Family Health and Wellness Center: Put simply – we are at capacity, membership has nearly tripled
to more than 12,000 members, and we expect 16,000 members by 2010.
We will double the space by expanding and converting the existing
area. This will allow adults and teens to exercise together or
separately; it will broaden our ability to provide specialized
fitness instruction. Children enrolled in YMCA programs are more
physically active than the average U.S. child, according to
results of a national poll conducted by YMCA of the USA. Cost: $444,171
Montessori
Preschool: We need to expand and relocate our Montessori Preschool to our
YMCA facility. The new, fully accredited preschool will have five
classrooms and a playground. It will double the student capacity
from 120 to 240 annually and erase a $130,000 off-site lease.

YKIDZ Youth
Center: We have a chronic waiting list for our YKIDZ program. The new
YKIDZ Youth Center (kindergarten through 5th grade) will more than
triple to 200 the number of children we can help. Kids will have
space for physical education, arts & crafts, swimming, rockwall,
homework time and much more. Cost: $306,803
Teen Center:
The new teen center will provide a “home away from home” for
teens. It will serve as a community focal point for teen outreach,
education and support. It will partner with families and teens to
promote character development and a sense of responsibility for
community service. The center will provide outreach to
single-parent homes and troubled teens. Cost: $427,047
